Are you planning to attend a special event? Getting married? Or maybe just trying to “glam up” your everyday look? Eyelash extensions are a great way to enhance your natural beauty or go for that “lux” look.
There are many different looks that can be achieved by using eyelash extensions. When setting up your appointment, please have a general idea of what you want to achieve using eyelash extensions and let our Spa Coordinator know. This way your appointment time will be tailored to meet your beauty goals. In general terms consider these effects that can be achieved:
Quarter: If you are looking to enhance the outer quarter of your lashes.
Half Set: If you are looking to just enhance your look naturally.
Full Set: If you are looking for a more striking and vivid new look.
Is there a product I can use if my eyelashes are too thin/short/pale/sparse?
Yes! We carry an eyelash formulation that produces extraordinary eyelash and brow enhancements. Ask us for a free brochure.
What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are made of a synthetic material and are attached individually using adhesive. Once applied, these lashes are so natural looking it is difficult to tell, even up close, if you have extensions on. This results in a natural, beautiful look.
What kind of adhesive is used and is it safe for use near my eyes?
Our eyelash extensions are applied using a medical grade black adhesive. The adhesive never touches your skin or your eye. It only touches the natural eyelash and the eyelash extension.
How long will the extensions last?
Your natural lashes have a lifespan of 60 – 90 days. Each eyelash extension is placed on your natural lash. This means that when your natural lash falls out, so does the extension. A new natural lash grows in that spot. Everyone is different, so based on your natural lash growth cycle, daily activities, and the care you take with your extensions, touch ups would be required every 2-4 weeks.
How long is the procedure?
The application can take approximately 1-2 hours. Factors such as your natural eyelash thickness and the look you are going for can make your application time longer or shorter. Your eyelash extensions will be applied while you lie down on a comfortable table, close your eyes, and relax while listening to music.
How do I decide what kind of look I want?
A consultation will occur first where you will specify what type of professional lifestyle you lead, how much makeup you normally wear and what size your natural lashes are. Each look is made specifically for you and the end result is very natural looking.
What causes the extensions to fall off?
Your natural lash cycle is the main reason for extensions to fall off, however, there are other reasons as well. Wear and tear due to rubbing, sleep, eye makeup, touching, oil based cleansers, excessive steam, mascara, and washing your face are factors. Also, any creams, eye makeup removers, lotions or cleansers containing glycols or carbonates can loosen the bond of extensions. Care must be taken to apply eye cream sparingly while avoiding the lash line area.
Can I wear mascara with my eyelash extensions?
Yes, you can wear a water-based mascara (NOT WATERPROOF MASCARA). However, this will complicate your routine for make-up removal and will cause the bonding agent in the adhesive to loosen, causing your extensions to come off before your natural eyelash would shed. You really won’t need to worry though, as your extensions will give you the same bold look as mascara.
Can I shower, exercise, or swim while wearing the eyelash extensions?
Yes! The bonding agent in the adhesive is waterproof so it allows you to shower, swim and exercise as you normally would. It is recommended that while showering you do not let the shower stream run directly onto your extensions.
